Jay’s career began thirty-five years ago when he was recruited out of college by an insurance company. Within a few years he had joined the brokerage firm A.G. Edwards & Sons, where he studied and practiced all aspects of investing (including futures and options trading) and engaged in estate planning through the firm’s trust department. In 1995, Jay retired from the brokerage business to found a fee-only financial planning and wealth management firm now known as The Wealth Conservatory.

Jay is a National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA)-Registered Financial Advisor, and member of various professional associations including the New Hampshire Estate Planner’s Council. He fulfills his civic obligation as a Trustee of Trust Funds for the City of Lebanon and Chairman of the Board of Assessors. He has previously served as a Trustee of the City of Lebanon’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Fiscal Impact Fund, and Chairman of the Lebanon Board of Zoning and Adjustment. His social contributions have included memberships in the Board of Directors for the Lebanon Opera House, Board of Directors for Stepping Stones/Next-Step (local mental health agency), Treasurer for Upper Valley Youth Services, and Treasurer and Vice-President of the Lebanon Rotary Club.
Jay is married to Jeanette, a retired school nurse. They have five grown children and nine grandchildren – seven of whom reside in their same neighborhood, which tends to take up much of Papa’s and Grammy’s leisure time.
